Grieving in the surveillance state

Pay your respects.
Grieve your loss.
Let people grieve without intrusion.

Grief is raw and vulnerable wether it’s a bushfire, a basketball player, or a political atrocity.

Writing, “Wait til the end,” to watch someone deeply grieving cry or lose their shit is not cool. It shows how disconnected we are from our own grief and normalises personal intrusion.

The limits of this surveillance culture are on us.

Watch what you watch.
