The ways of water

Kootenay National Park, BC

The waters are stirring up what’s been below the surface. For some it stirs a need for connection, for some it’s time to let go.

The Sun & Moon in water signs was the perfect dynamic to gather in Calgary for the 1st of these Living Room Sessions. We talked about wtf is going on; how easy it is to feel powerless when the world is a dumpster fire & the ways we’re learning to reframe “work” & the Capricorn narrative we’ve inherited.

Today Mercury Retrograde passes through the eye of the needle. It’s like the Winter Solstice of its retrograde phase & we can now breathe out knowing the end is near! Mercury will go direct on August 2nd.

With this Venus~ Pluto playlist blaring in the background it’s not time to look away. Take some time for yourself & listen closer. Often it reveals a diamond, a crystal clear piece of the puzzle that you’ve been waiting for.

Under the current sky it might not be what you want to hear; water is subversive. If you’re noticing water damage in a relationship you know exactly where your own leak is because this didn’t start yesterday. Now is the perfect time to renegotiate boundaries & take out your own garbage. Personal responsibility wears many hats & it starts & ends with you.

Moon landing eclipse~aversary

Image of Earth from Space – source NASA

50 years ago today we (speculatively) sent 3 humans to the Moon. Wether you ‘believe’ it happened or not, something significant unfolded: we saw ourselves for the 1st time from a distance, living on a rock hanging in space. It’s impossible for human consciousness to not shift fundamentally from this point onward. #whatisthemeaningoflife

It’s interesting that this 50th anniversary occurs on a Lunar Eclipse! From the view of this image (taken by the Apollo 11 crew) the Moon is between the Earth & the Sun. These 3 celestial bodies that we rely on indefinitely ~ the Sun, the Moon & the Earth ~ all dance a dance, around & with each other, casting shadows, reflecting light & inspiring wonder. On & on.

I know a lot of folx are having hard things come up in this shadow time ~ ahoy to those who are riding high!

Eclipses stir the pot. They disturb the sediment. It has been an intense week/month/year #lezbereal .Eclipse season can bring up what we haven’t wanted to look at, distilling its poison, revealing the shadow.

Letting go occurs in so many ways & phases. It’s ok to wait for the light to return. It’s ok to have distance for perspective & detach from the stories. Remember that your feet are on the Earth & that staying grounded – or holding your ground – is part of finding your way.

On the road again; from my living room to yours!

Don’t bite the hook…

NOT TODAY! ⚔️

There’s an intensity in the air & frustrations can be heightened over nothing.

JUST BREATHE.

Channel that energy into some kind of constructive change or just leave it til tomorrow when the seas are calmer.

Sagittarius Full Moon: the wisdom in goodbye

Sagittarius is born to roam, to explore & have life’s adventures be the primary source of education. As romanticised & IG-filtered as this has become, there is a duality in the experience with Sagittarius being half human-half horse that can’t be separated.

The Moon connects us to the past, our comforts & that which is habitual, and this Sagittarius Full Moon brought home the reality of what we’re leaving behind as we leap forward into this new world. We can have the birds eye view over the state of the world & philosophise about what will & wont happen, but being present in the mourning & release of what once comforted us is the essence of The Archer having its head in the clouds & feet on the ground.

The one thing that has followed me on all these Sagittarius adventures I seem to hurl myself into again & again & again is GOODBYE. Leaving is an integral part of any adventure & loss is the constant companion of all you gain. The crossroads of realisation that something you love has to die, or that your truth no longer lies within the things that nourished you is the Holy Grail of truth that keeps those arrows straight. It’s the razors edge of living authentically.

Jupiter has been in Sagittarius all year & thank _______ for that b’cause it’s really helped us not completely sink in the misery happening in Cancer/Capricorn (that’s 2020’s job). The energy of this Full Moon allows us to dream & vision the future we want while mourning what is literally slipping through our fingers. Be bold enough to sit in both the excitement of the adventure & the vulnerability of chaos.

Choose your own adventure.

The struggle is real

The planets are playing dirty in the sandbox but you don’t have to retaliate.

I know a lot of people are just hanging on by a thread right now. It’s an intense time. There’s a LOT coming up that needs to be cleared ~ be it ancestral or familial, personal or collective ~ pain & trauma are asking for our attention to heal & be release. Nothing & no one is spared.

Keep hanging on, it will pass. This is a particularly intense week. The planets are having a fight in the sandbox: someone in the past left glass in there which is cutting to the core of deeper issues & everyone’s got sand in their eyes which is making it that much worse. Mars, the initiator, has been sent to his room & is having a tantrum. Saturn is attempting to reinforce outdated rules so, everyone’s either crying or trying to keep the cool hand of control. It’s a hard combination that calls for gentleness & honest self reflection.

One of the best remedies for lifting you out of your own situation is giving someone else a lift. Reach out now because everyone’s going through this – no matter what hemisphere you live in or what rock you might wanna hide under. It’s time for some deep digging & solidarity.

🏳️‍🌈 For those celebrating Pride: be bold, be brave & please be safe. 🏳️‍🌈

For those with Capricorn rising you don’t have to live in a constant state of deprivation & proving that you can DO IT. We know you can, it’s yourself you’re learning to trust. Let that softness in that others are offering you.

Why now? Total Solar Eclipse emerges 119 later.

As if Solar Eclipses aren’t magical enough on their own!

This footage of a Solar Eclipse that occurred across North Carolina, USA on May 28, 1900 is the first known eclipse to be filmed. It has just been released to the public with some pretty auspicious timing.

A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are in the same zodiacal sign and also occupy the same terrain in the sky as viewed from Earth. This particular eclipse occurred when both the Sun and Moon were in Gemini which happens to be the exact same New Moon that is occurring as it’s re-released!

While Astrology and Astronomy were once synonymous, many in the science fields today attempt to maintain distance from Astrology, yet this film has been held in The Royal Astronomical Society’s archive for 119 years and they no doubt did not intend to time its release to impress astrologers! So, what brought it out?

Filmed by magician Nevil Maskelyne and reworked by the British Film Institute, it’s an amazing view back in time. Watching an old eclipse is like looking at photos of our great-great-grandparents. Every eclipse is part of a larger cycle, or family, that produces an eclipse every 18 years. These families, like yours, have certain traits and characteristics that re-emerge with each eclipse until the family fades out some 1300 years later. That’s a lot of generations carrying one continuous thread.

In her work on these eclipse families, called Saros Cycles, Bernadette Brady says of this particular eclipse:

May 28, 1900: 10 South at 7* Gemini

This Saros Series concerns itself with breaking out of a very negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options. A worry that may have been affecting a person will suddenly clear. The solution is shown by the Cosmos and needs to be taken up without too much delay. ~ The Eagle and the Lark, p323

There are various points of connection with this films release that pose many questions, principally “Why now?” If each eclipse family has a particular energy and message why, when the state of the world is pretty dire, are we again witnessing this eclipse? What brought this Gemini New Moon back into our consciousness 119 years later on yet another Gemini New Moon?

It’s possible to google the Great American Eclipse and view it from hundreds of viewpoints, but film was only emerging in the 1890’s, and if Nevil was alive today he’d likely be taking refuge in an embassy in London for his public service hacking: He was a public detractor of Guglielmo Marconi in the early days of radio (wireless). In 1903 he hacked into Marconi’s demonstration of wireless telegraphy, and broadcast his own message, hoping to make Marconi’s claims of “secure and private communication” appear foolish. ~ Wikipedia

Not only is this amazing to watch but the synchronicity of its release date coupled with the theme of the eclipse family and Nevil’s trickster ways are timely in this Gemini Season.

Consciousness Shift

Gemini Season allows us time to explore and gather the missing pieces.

We are 100% heading toward a consciousness shift. The energy on the planet is increasing as the amount of people seeking, finding meaning in the mundane, and taping into nature’s wisdom has increased exponentially in the last few years.

CAN YOU FEEL IT?!

Gemini Season can render our energy scattered and directionless. The challenge amidst the capitalistic narrative is to remember that it’s OK; mutable signs are born to wander. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces all gather facts and intuitive data to pass on to the succeeding Cardinal Signs who initiate the changes.

Destination is not always the goal. Seeking out all the options is wise to inform us of what direction to take next. Looking both ways before crossing the road is smart, just as spinning your own compass once in a while can help orient you toward what is really important, and what’s not.

Let this Gemini New Moon spin your compass. Allow all avenues of possibility to come into focus and keep your options open.

When seeking appears to be the goal it’s important to remember that there is no one to follow. There is only your own innate wisdom that can guide you and the best thing you can do for yourself and everyone else is learn to hear it, trust it and go with it.
