Scorpio Super Full Moon – Breaking of the dam

Taurus and Scorpio could be called “the give and take axis.” It’s here we’re confronted with what we’re holding onto and what we’re releasing. Taurus asserts into physical manifestation, produces results and seeks containment for consistency, while Scorpio rules the other end of the life cycle, taking compost and the deceased down into the unseen for death and renewal. This axis is no playground for the faint of heart. It’s intense and persistent.

This Full Moon is Super for a few reasons. A Super Moon occurs when the Moon is physically closer to Earth in its orbit, so we both see and feel it more intensely. This particular Full Moon is called the Pink Moon due to the flowers that bloom this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere. Check out this Pink Moon design by Felix Felgo!

Embedded in this Full Moon is an unpredictable, wild card energy. Since April 2018, Uranus has been plodding through Taurus, slowly destabilising our relationship to security, finances, resources and the planet. What we once relied upon is now being eroded and any weaknesses and vulnerabilities are being exposed. Change is the nemesis of the fixed signs, and right now it’s the only reliable constant we have. Tonight, Uranus fuses with the Sun as part of the light projected onto the Moon; the usual steadiness of Taurus and Scorpio is jolted into erratic bursts of fits and starts, wrapped up in the juxtaposition of deep feelings and emotional detachment.

Throughout 2021, Saturn is adding extra pressure to Uranus. We’re experiencing this as tension between old and new, restriction and freedom, in-person and online connections, to name a few. This is all being amplified under this Full Moon suggesting that something has to give. Where resistance is strong, the force of change is stronger. We’re moving out of old, stable patterns into an unknown new.

The Moon, while bright in fullness, struggles in Scorpio, as does Mars in Cancer who is hosting the Moon overnight. The Moon and Mars mutually receiving each other is not as fortuitous as it might seem. Neither are well equipped to deal with the, dare I say, dyke giving way that usually holds space for the moody, emotional waters that flood through grief. Pluto stationing retrograde only adds powerful potency to that which is unearthed and released from the emotional depths.

There’s a cracking open occurring under this Moon. Plans to let go are often wrapped up in a sentiment of readiness and voluntary release, but the light of this Moon will shine with piercing exactness on where we are kidding ourselves and what needs cleansing. It’s not the sweet smelling roses of Taurus Season past. It’s the thorns that pierce and activate the emotional trenches, and the tension of division that will reveal where we are stuck and resistant, in a tedious rut of sameness.

Taurus season offers renewal. It opens us up to what can flower from compost, what can be reborn after loss. To reap its rewards, however, we need to persevere through the challenges and move with the changes. Any disconnection we have with the Earth is reflective of the disconnection within ourselves. This scattered, sharp and restless Full Moon energy is rewiring us, making sure we’re plugged in to the right places for realignment. Any fears and emotional resentments lying below the surface will release as the dam breaks because we can no longer hold on to anything that is holding us back.

Anyone else finding it hard to sleep with this Full Moon building?!

The Libra Full Moon on April 7 ~ the Pink Moon ~ will be the biggest & brightest of the year! Supermoon’s (a Perigree Full Moon) are closer to the Earth than average, so we feel the pull, just like a high tide in the ocean.

If you’re keen to step out of incubation & check it out, be sure to spot Venus radiating in the sky, too!

Venus is in the brightest phase of its cycle before it slows down to turn Retrograde on May 13th.

Cancer Full Moon eclipse 2020

Traditionally, eclipses have been ominous signs. They remind us of how little control we have. No amount of prayer, ritual or intention can stop the Earth passing between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on our closest neighbour.

As the earth moves betwixt two opposing forces, we edge deeper into the dance that has been unfolding since November 2018 when the Nodes moved into Cancer / Capricorn.  #cancercapricornclusterfuck

Since November 2018, we’ve seen a rise in Cancer / Capricorn themes: women in power have destabilised the existing model of authority. Mass migration and the strict policing of borders has highlighted the lands we all stand on; whose land is it and who gets to draw lines all over it, carving out territories that some people can cross in to but not others? More people now have a deeper understanding of ancestral trauma, or at least the term is rolling around looking for its place to land. As corruption rolls over and exposes its underbelly we are left with no choice but to speak truth to power. As borders shift and economies follow, we’re asked what is it we’ve really invested our security into? Failing to acknowledged the Earth as a living, breathing organism has divorced us from having a co-creative relationship it, resulting in unimaginable devastation.

This Full Moon in Cancer is calling us home. It’s highlighting what needs to be let go of while simultaneously drawing us toward our potential. Cancer wants us to come home to planet earth, home to our bodies and personal sovereignty, home to understanding our own ancestry and the lineage of the lands we occupy. We’re being pulled – tugged at from the inside and out – to find this balance.

Capricorn represents that which we’re releasing. As an earth sign it highlights our use and relationship with resources: oil, water, crop, division & ownership, bodies, money. Its governance over large functioning systems highlights just how long we’ve been living under the  oppressive rule of patriarchy, capitalism, white supremacy, heteronormativity, and how we’re simultaneously losing the voice of our elders. Capricorn is a cold, dry earth sign, and the cracks are showing. Without Cancer to balance it, Capricorn is in perpetual drought.

Astrology embraces opposites as part of the whole. Nothing is rejected. Capricorn, without its polar opposite Cancer, knows only how to use and control functional parts. Emotions are hailed as weak, uncontrollable and inferior. Most people can recall a time they felt like they had to bury their emotions to go to work. Capricorn steering the capitalistic ship fails to acknowledge that people are not robots, that Indigenous people have ongoing relationships to land, and that women and trans people have bodies that exist outside the law. Cancer reminds us that emotions hold up signposts for things that aren’t working. They lead us toward a more balanced, harmonious existence.

Cancer Full Moon Eclipse, January 10, 2020

Water is not as direct as Earth. It’s pervasive, moving through the cracks and slowly shifting things from the inside out.  There’s nothing useless about small steps. There’s no weakness is stopping, acknowledging the ways in which we’ve contributed to this narrative and choosing a different path forward. We’re all welcome home, but what we’re coming home to depends on the choices we make.

The last of the Leo – Aquarius eclipses

Driving into the heart of this continent is nothing short of Epic. A 5 day drive that my Sagittarian feet would far prefer to walk, but are not genetically designed to do, took us from the waves lapping at the ocean shore to the fossilised rock that is the ancient sea bed. I love the desert for so many reasons; the silence, the expanse, the space, the lack of distraction that initiates an acute awareness, the lack of water simultaneously present with its tangible memory. It’s impossible to hide from yourself because you are constantly reflected everywhere.

Uluru holds great cultural & spiritual significance to the Anangu people. It extends some 6000m below ground & towers 343m above us. It’s truly immense, awe inspiring & it feels like a giant crystal pulsating magnificence. I’m so deeply grateful to be here.

We arrived at the heart of this continent on the Leo Full Moon, the sign that rules the heart, on an eclipse that acts as a bridge. The Full Moon is technically in Leo, but eclipses are defined by the Nodes of the Moon, & those Nodes are well & truly dancing along the Cancer / Capricorn axis.

This bridge is an important one. As we hurtle along into 2019, we’re building toward a critical time that will peak in 2020. The unfolding that occurs will redefine how we understand security, home, connection & the ongoing impacts of our capitalistic cis-het-patriarchal white supremist ways. This final eclipse in Leo is a reminder to sink deeper into our hearts, to not indulge the mind & fear as much as we can compassion & renegotiation.

This intensity that buiilding has me moving deeper into silence & listening. I hope for you all through this #fullmoon that you don’t deny your uniqueness, that it leads you deeper into your heart & that you carry this energy with you through the challenges that lie ahead.

Pisces Full Moon deep dive

Screen Shot 2018-09-11 at 4.41.31 PM

These Pisces Full Moon feels run deep & there’s much to be crafted from this energy.

The ocean’s water & the ocean bed have a symbiotic relationship; both shift & change shape with each other, because of each other, for each other.

This is Pisces. 🐋

Pisces is not in it for itself…because Pisces is aware that it IS EVERYTHING. From our ocean bed to the layers of consciousness, Pisces is everywhere & everything at once. #mutablemagic

This Full Moon comes with a Grand Earth trine that offers us the opportunity to not get disoriented in this expanse, but to make something from it, to make something of it.

Without Earth, water lacks definition. Without water, Earth is barren – a disaster for an element that knows how to produce.

Take these Pisces feels & make Virgo proud! Channel this energy through your hands & bring the energy down to Earth.

…and contact Jessika Fancy if you want an Orca print!

Wakie wakie with the MOON

🌕 This FULL MOON has me wide-eyed awake & buzzing til late in the night, even tho my body is so tired!
When this happens I love to slip into that between worlds state where physical reality & the unconscious meet – to ask unanswered questions & bring projects to the front of my mind for a late night process.
It’s amazing how much tension can unravel & how problems find solutions when we process things without our usual control mechanisms.
Some things are important to resist, but surrendering into this Lunar vibe can illuminate so much…& #sagittariusseason is offering us a bountiful horizon to explore in.
