Venus stations Retrograde today & Jessika Fancy & I are offering a 6 week workshop to inspire & guide you through.
Like any Rx cycle this slowing down & reorienting can throw us for a loop. Venus, however, has an extra special ability to take us to different places in the sky and therefore, farther reaches of our psyche. Starting out at 21* Gemini, Venus is in the terrain of Fixed Star, Capella (21* Gemini).
Capella is a free-spirited, action oriented energy, desiring unbridled terrain in which to roam. Sound familiar right now? Aligned with Venus, Brady says the combination seeks to, “challenge the values of society. To strive to be free of the restrictions that society can impose. A group or person goes outside of society’s accepted boundaries.” As we step into this Venus Rx cycle, lock-down laws are starting to ease across the globe, Summer is picking up speed in the Northern Hemisphere and many who have felt like horses locked in a stable are kicking and bucking with the desire to be free again!
To collectively move forward we need to be personally responsible.
Over the next 6 weeks, you will have access to weekly astrological guidance, magical suggestions & creative prompts. Working at your own pace, this workshop is designed to keep you consciously working with the changing energies. Come join us! SIGN UP IS OPEN and will remain open – week 1 has begun! 🌹💫🌹
Hades called. There’s a buy one Retrograde get 3 free sale going on. Stocks aren’t limited & participation is compulsory. 💯
We’re still following the funeral procession that was the Full Moon in Scorpio and Saturn has today slammed on the breaks, just days before Venus & Jupiter. In a few days 4 planets will be retrograde. This week will likely throw us for a loop. Think of it like being in a car going around a corner at high speed; don’t try to push against it, lean in & trust your instincts. Find your flow.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Moon in Capricorn is snuggling up to Pluto all day today making sure to rattle any cobwebs of grief & uncertainty you were hoping to ignore.
Lean in. Listen. Watch carefully. Whatever is taking flight right now will likely land as a message further along the road. 💫
Scorpio Full Moon — Taurus Season: You can’t take it with you when you go.
With SO MUCH changing at this time Taurus Season helps us focus on that which nourishes & sustains us and keeps us connected to source while we inhabit the body.
A fertile, abundant energy Taurus is resourceful. It saves for a rainy day and softens the hard edges. It also has the potential to hoard or get bogged down in the fear of change, and this Full Moon is reminding us of the inevitability of change and endings, of something greater than our creature comforts and convenience.
As some places relax their lockdown laws many folks are fearing that nothing will have changed in this incubation time, that so much loss and suffering was for nothing and that hope of a new world is too far from reach.
It’s said that this is the Full Moon that Gautama the Buddha attained enlightenment under. Knowing that there were only 5 people at his first teaching we can rest assured that from little things big things grow. The seeds that you have planted in this incubation time can grow into physical and spiritual changes in your life – if you nurture them. Whether it be awareness about how a fast paced, capitalistic world hurts you, or how there’s a natural rhythm in your body that does not require an alarm clock, or that you’ve realised the relationship / job / lifestyle you were living needs some tweaking will all require both the pain of loss that accompanies profound change as well as your dedication to nurturing that growth.
Whatever your situation throughout the last 3-6 months, we’ve all had time to reflect on what this one precious life is about and what our relationship to the material and spiritual world is. There is undeniable change occurring and it will continue to unfold. If it’s not a pandemic it’ll be something else; choices made in the past have left us in an ongoing crisis and there’s nothing comfortable about it.
As the Nodes shift signs and Venus slows down to turn retrograde, this Full Moon encourages us to clarify what’s important. The economy is not our new North Star! What 2020 has gifted us is what Scorpio does best: penetrate straight to the heart of the matter and highlight what is no longer valuable. Nurture those seeds no matter how small or insignificant they may feel because it’s a collective effort bringing in the new world.
For the duration of this cycle Dru Ish & Jessika Fancy are offering weekly astrological and magical guidance to inspire you. This is designed for you to work through at your own pace no matter your knowledge or experience.
You will be sent a link each week for the duration of the retrograde cycle (6 weeks) to work with the current themes via different media.
Anyone else finding it hard to sleep with this Full Moon building?!
The Libra Full Moon on April 7 ~ the Pink Moon ~ will be the biggest & brightest of the year! Supermoon’s (a Perigree Full Moon) are closer to the Earth than average, so we feel the pull, just like a high tide in the ocean.
If you’re keen to step out of incubation & check it out, be sure to spot Venus radiating in the sky, too!
Venus is in the brightest phase of its cycle before it slows down to turn Retrograde on May 13th.
As Australians are forced to understand the connections between their flawed political system and environmental devastation, the UK & EU are standing on an unsteady brink of change, while the POTUS “unintentionally” just sparked a war with Iran that will affect the entire globe beyond measures we’ve yet seen. Welcome to 2020!
Astrologers have been sending up flares for a while about the intensity of 2020’s planetary climate. The current alignment between Saturn and Pluto has, in history, been a precursor to world war and global devastation. As above, so below, this year will mark significant changes in history with regard to politics, power and the use of resources, for better or worse.
Saturn and generational inheritance
The main theme of the year is delivered by Saturn ruled Capricorn: A stern teacher who values discipline over play; A mythology that passes down inferiority to its younger generations, fearful that the new will overthrow the old; A lack of accountability with how power is wielded that results in tighter, stricter measures; The failure to acknowledge vulnerabilities that could provide a far more beneficial model of how to use power than has been inherited.
While these are some of the more challenging Saturnian characteristics that come out under pressure, the unfolding themes are affecting everyone, not just those with Capricorn or Aquarian placements. It’s highlighting what we’ve all inherited and what we’re all being called to work with and through, 2020 and beyond.
Capricorn prides itself on being a leader. With its uncompromising eye on the prize, this earth sign can steamroll across any emotion that threatens to destabilise the firm structures of security it’s built. It knows how to bury inferiority, often presenting with a bold superiority to avoid contact with fear that could potentially undermine it. The problem with this familiar narrative is that it’s the old model, and we’re just beginning to scratch the surface with what we’ve inherited and how we all, in one way or another, uphold these cold, outdated modes of behaviour.
In the past few years, polarising narratives have thrown around insults to shut down those who are here to bring in change. “Snowflake” was once used to describe those who opposed the abolition of slavery in the 1800’s. It’s now used to condemn anyone acknowledging that the systems we’ve inherited hurt us. While there is the issue of entitlement to work through, if the current state of power (capitalism, top down politics, white supremacy, heteronormativity etc) is anything to go by, there are a select few creating the narrative we are fed as fact, and we continue to play along in a complex playground of forced membership.
2020 is a game changer.
If there was only one major transit this year ~ the Saturn Pluto conjunction occurring in January ~ it could be said that the start of the year is intense but after that you can breathe out and get back to your life. Without wanting to play on already existing fears, it’s important to shift our view from a minor obstacle we can work through – to understanding that January is a precursor for what this year, and the future, holds. Collectively we’ve created an apocalyptic narrative that begins and ends, not one that we have to endure, slowly.
If Capricorn is good at anything it’s the long-haul, so take stock of where you’re feeling vulnerable, what is potentially threatening your pocket of security in the world, and who and what holds deepest value to you. Solidarity and community connections will be our life blood when these power structures buckle under pressure.
The unfolding narrative in the 2020 sky highlights power in the wrong hands, exposure of who feeds who in the underbelly of corruption, and a reassessment of our values and how we communicate (let’s see how we function without the internet!). At the end of the year we have a brand new cycle of change emerging. One that will cap off a momentous year with a new direction of power and hope.
The thing with Capricorn and Saturn’s mythology is that it doesn’t hand power over well. For us to step into this new age, that has been emerging for some time, we need to embrace and acknowledge the things that have been buried and kept from view.
We’ve been taught that violence is an overt, obvious event. If we listen to minority groups however, who are often the ones stipulating necessary social changes, we hear how subtleties are often debilitating precursors to the more obvious symptoms. It’s difficult for people to grasp that language itself can be violent. The reaction to gender neutral language, for example, disrupts the heteronormative model, meaning that those who don’t understand have the choice to learn or resist. We’re taught that illness should be visible and something you plough through, as the severity and impact of mental health comes out from isolation.
As we seek to uncover the origins of the world we’ve inherited, we’re confronted with the narrative of Capricorn, “Get on with it. Stop complaining. You need to bury your feelings so that you can work and be productive. You’re too sensitive. You’re a burden on the system.” Acknowledging our vulnerabilities as signposts for change, not as weakness’s that halt production, are personal milestones that impact collective change.
Shifting consciousness from Capricorn to Aquarius
There’s a LOT of talk, especially in white spiritual spaces, of how we’re gearing up toward a consciousness shift. While this is not necessarily untrue (isn’t it a constant?), we can’t go through these monumental changes without our consciousness also shifting.
The exposure of Capricorn’s underbelly comes accompanied by the narrative that those stuck in the ‘old ways’ will be left behind. The issue is that everyone thinks they’re right and Capricorn, as a determined cardinal sign, can get stuck in the “doing” which creates the hierarchy of ahead v’s behind. What Aquarius is ushering in at the end of the year is that we’re all here together; if one of us isn’t free, none of us are.
We’re being forced to acknowledge our own uncomfortable experience of inferiority; none of us know what’s going on and we’ve been fed lies that say having control means you’re in charge. Having control brings its own set of things to worry about; maintaining it, curating the illusion that you’ve got it and often, not sharing it.
What this year asks for is complex.
There’s not one answer and not one solution. What there is though, is a playground full of tests and challenges for releasing that which we’ve outgrown. We’ve been given a set of rules and to survive we have to break them. Conformity will not save us. Not unpacking thoroughly that which we’ve inherited will only slow the process of change.
As the year unfolds and you find yourself, your outlook, your beliefs, your security, your relationship to power all being challenged, the best thing we can all do is look to our neighbour and see how they’re faring. Isolation is one of Capricorn’s defence mechanisms; reach out, stay connected and let the injustices impacting you inform you on how others are being affected, also.
Anyone wanting to understand where the energies are occurring in your own chart, I’m offering a Year Ahead reading, drawing up a month by month personalised map.

The Sun & Uranus are snuggled up today, creating both excitement & instability. While some folks love the electricity & dynamic energy of ⚡️Uranus⚡️, for others it can be quite destabilising.
Since Uranus entered Taurus last year (May-Sept) we started to get an incling of that which was up for overhaul. On a personal level relationships, ideologies, employment, finances, family dynamics all started to reveal the deeper rifts of core dissatisfaction.
Now that this transit is in full swing we’re staring into the mirror of chaos; we don’t have control & the more we feed that lie, the more complicated we make the simplicity of life.
What we DO have when we allow chaos into our consciousness is creative freedom. Without desperately trying to control the winds that blow through our lives, we can remember that we are the magic ~ that it’s not something to be attained & possessed ~ & it’s not something we can manufacture, only work with.
As Uranus is often associated with ⚡️lightning⚡️ & Taurus takes on an Earthy -of the body – resourceful shape, we can re-learn what it is to live WITH nature, an integral part of it, co-collaborating. When we become conduits for the energy that’s BUSTING to come through, we step back into our 💚heart centre💚 & release the stress of trying to be, criticising & controlling.
Depending on how invested we are we might resist the changes, but Uranus ultimately wants to free us from that which inhibits. In earthy Taurus it’s calling us to WAKE UP while still in the body, to dare to meet life with fresh, open eyes & to fully dance the dance that we are!
We are all these Sunflowers. We all have a physical manifestation that we move through the world with, and yet, there’s also a subtle vibration pouring from each of us at every moment.
THERE IS NO LADDER OF HIERARCHY IN CONSCIOUSNESS.
The psychic airs are so thick and heavy right now. It can feel so hard to push through the fear and sense of impending doom, wherever in the world we are. The more I sit in this heaviness, the more I’m drawn toward understanding consciousness. Not with the mind or intellect, in being.
Uranus in Taurus is offering us just this. Uranus is an agitator, an awakener, forever pushing us toward freedom. In this Taurus case, we’re being given the opportunity to free ourselves from habituation, from the limitation of the body and being tied to material concerns. That doesn’t mean we check out, stop giving a shit, stop wearing clothes and give away all our money (though you can if that’s your jam.)
It means something different for everyone, but the vehicle that gets us there is very simple: listen to your own needs, your own inner dialogue and have boundaries that shield you from being saturated by the outside noise. Make space for your divine sound to pour forth and change this dominant, fear-based narrative.
Taurus gets comfortable. It loves a groove…but grooves become ruts which become trenches that we find hard to dig ourselves out of. We’re all being uprooted. We’re all re-evaluating our worth and what we invest time, energy and money into. It doesn’t make sense that the structures that support us also undermine us. This change is destabilizing and necessary. Look to what you’re clinging to and what’s being challenged to change.
The noise in the world, on social media is SO. LOUD. It doesn’t matter if it’s from the left or the right, red or blue, Liberal – National – Labour – everyone’s yelling. Make space for your Sunflower sound. Plug in and let it out.
We all know stories of people staying in relationships “for the children,” and we can all likely relate to having things in relationships that represent “that thing” that keeps us attached, in therapy, processing, working for and even denying what is ACTUALLY going on.
Venus is now in the fierce, rising phase of her cycle and there’s a jittery, disruptive energy in the air as the veil thins.
Uranus is stirring up the sediment down below that one offered us security and safe footing. Maybe you thought you’d made it though Venus’s journey unscathed!? What we’ve let settle and what we’ve settled for is now being weighed on the irritation scale.
We have a choice this week about what we go forward with and what we acknowledge and let go of. What are the ties that bind you? Financial contracts, relationship agreements where we spend our money and time all reflect our values. As you’ve changed since then, how have these agreements shifted also?
If you’re thinking that someone will change if only they’d go to therapy, or understand this one concept, or change this certain behaviour, you’re likely flogging a dead horse and this irritation and uncertainty is highlighting the deception.
What has died needs to be re-named, re-defined and re-leased.
Endings come in many and varied packages and they all lead to the same outcome: new beginnings.
Rise and shine!
